The goal of First
Step is to work
with adolescent with substance abuse problems,
adolescents that have a good support system but need
outpatient substance abuse counseling services, and
those returning to the area from other programs. In
addition, First
Step has the
flexibility to increase or decrease client services
based in individual needs.
First Step
can be a wonderful compliment to the work that many
programs have completed with adolescents involved with
social services or probation. In addition, First Step
is an option for those individuals that are beginning to
experiment with alcohol or other drugs and need alcohol
and drug use preventative education.
First Step
will be offering primary groups on Monday, Tuesday and
Thursday. Wednesday is designated for the family
program, and parents or guardians are invited to attend.
Aftercare is also offered on Wednesday.
