Next Step offers the
Intensified Methamphetamine Track to adolescent stimulant
abusers to help address this growing trend. The IMT program
is based in cue reduction techniques that target cravings
associated with material, emotional and behavioral stimuli
that are associated with Methamphetamine abuse and
addiction. Residents are counseled on their unique responses
to stimuli, and an individual plan is drafted by each client
to address cravings. Research has shown that the brain of a stimulant user will respond differently to stimuli than individuals that do not abuse stimulants. This program assists residents in decreasing the impact of stimuli, thus increasing the client’s chances of lasting recovery from Methamphetamine or other stimulant abuse. |
